IDW1 Arcee head for Legacy Elita 3d print.obj by Doomspoons

Last year, we commissioned the amazing 3d print artist doompsoons to do a 3d print .obj of IDW1 Arcee so we could give our customs a more accurate head than we could with green stuff casually, and in anticipation of having some customs to sell to fundraise for trans rights causes in the future. Doomspoons works by sculpting in 3d printing software rather than by CAD, and thus the  process generally takes longer for the dynamic prototyping and visualization compared to the more technical side of CAD (3d sculpting is generally associated with the arts, while CAD is more associated with engineering, but both have overlaps), which is why the price is higher than what one might usually find for just a 3d print deluxe head file (which by the way works just fine transforming!). The other reason is the minimum donation amount of who the donation is going towards, the Rainbow Railroad. This non-profit provides emergency travel support to LGBTQI+ people around much of the world to relocate if needed in the face danger from homophobia and/or transphobia, whether relocating to another country or cash support to access services and self-relocate to another region of a country, teaming up with other orgs in countries where people have been displaced, crisis response to mass detentions, arrests, and geopolitical tensions, information services and referrals, and other complementary pathways to safety. 

Given the work that they do and the fact Arcee's own canonical story in the comics has to do with surviving androcentric upheaval and conflict along with transphobia of various degrees of subtlety, and that she, her friend Anode, and Anode's wife Lug, all have journeys of trying to find a home and community they can thrive in (and in the end, do find that and do their own part in making the world a better place), we thought this was a sensible donation path. Given that nonprofits these days increasingly seek only monthly, quarterly, or yearly donations to be able to predict their budget and take in more consistent revenue, if the Rainbow Railroad takes that path as many 2LGBTQIA+ orgs have, we will turn to donating proceeds to mutual aid for other trans and gender expansive folks. Thank you all so much for the wait on this actually releasing, and happy 40th anniversary to Transformers and Arcee both. Just to simplify our life right now the money and tax stuff is being handled by itch.io so it will take ?at least a week? after the donation for the money to actually get to our account so we can donate it. Will update when we find out more about how this works.

The reason we chose itch.io instead of shapeways, gumroad, or cults3d to release this is because it has a pay what you want or community copies option, and we opted for the latter.
